I’ve always loved working weddings at the Hotel Northampton located in downtown Northampton Massachusetts. There were wedding seasons where I’d be there 3 or 4 times each month DJing wedding after wedding in the Hotel Northampton ballroom. I’ve always loved the feel and architecture of the Hotel Northampton for weddings. It is a great backdrop for your wedding reception.
I’m a fan of having a separate space for cocktail hour to dinner and dancing at a wedding. At The Hotel Northapton, social hour is typically held in the hotel lobby and outer hall overlooking downtown Northampton Massachusetts.
The Hotel Northampton’s ballroom will limit your guest count. No 200 or 300 person wedding here, but that’s part of the charm of this Northampton old world hotel wedding. You don’t have to worry about guests driving after the wedding festivities. It is a short elevator ride to your room once the last song plays at your wedding.
As a wedding DJ, we are uniquely in tune with room acoustics. THe Hotel Northapton is a narrow / wide room configuration. Two speakers from your wedding DJ just won’t cover this space properly. Everone will not hear announcements or wedding speeches without a 3 or 4 speaker sound system from your wedding DJ. Leave your subwoofer at home – this room with all the wood is rich sounding all on it’s own.
Want to bring the “Wow Factor” to your Northampton MA wedding reception? Try adding up-lighting to accent the architectural features of the Hotel NoHo and add to your wedding color scheme. Not just any up-lighting will do – you will need enough lighting fixtures to not just highlight the DJ booth (who does this anyways?) but the architecture / windows of this magnificent wedding ballroom. Proper color mixing requires fixtures with more than just R-G-B color mixing. New technology lighting fixtures for weddings now include Red, Green, Blue, Amber, White and even UV to give a more smooth color mix and pallet choice for your wedding colors. Soft yellows and amber will warm the Hotel Northampton’s wood tones or use Red, Blues or Purples to dial things up a notch.
It’s rare that we have to worry about noise levels at the Hotel Northampton for your wedding – but your NoHo Wedding DJ will be in constant contact with Hotel staff to ensure no issues.
Northampton MA is a big draw for our Smith College Alumni Weddings and UMass Alumni Weddings. Its rich and unique downtown shopping, dining and diverse residents makes for great adventures both before and after your wedding day for both your family and guests.
