The Inspire Photo Retreat was held in Newport RI this year at the Hyatt on Goat Island, right next to Belle Mer (one of our favorite locations for a Newport Wedding). When we were approached to help with AV support for the Inspire convention – we immediately said yes. The first year, it was just event lighting and DJ services. For the past two years, we have taken over all of their AV support for this convention. With about 200+ professional photographers from all over the area (and beyond) converging on Newport in February – many of which we know through the wedding industry.
On Sunday, the day before the convention started, we rolled in with a 12′ trailer and truck packed with AV gear, lighting and with about 10 man hours of labor, we had things pretty much set up for this 3 day conference.
Here is a rough idea of what we did for this convention:
- 50 LED Up-lights covering two spaces
- 3 Inspire logo projections
- A live twitter/instagram feed on our 60″ plasma in the lobby
- 6 LCD Projectors and screens
- 4 LCD Monitors
- 12 speakers
- 8 wireless microphones
- 5 sound mixers
- DJ Set-up for their after party with club lighting
- Lounge DJ setup for the first night networking session
- 8 breakout rooms with AV support kit
- 2 Sound Tech, 4-18 hour days
